Bourbon Steak

Bourbon Steak is a new restaurant that recently opened in the Four Seasons Hotel. I love cozy lounges and was pleasantly surprised. The natural earth hues of the lounge give off a relaxing feel. The theme of warm, dark tones continues into the dining area. From the moment you enter the dining area, the staff take very good care of you and leave no stone unturned. Everything from hanging your coat, to pulling out your chair and gracefully placing a white napkin gently on your lap. Some of us really eat this stuff up. For those only concerned about the food, keep reading - we're almost there. The wait staff are fully trained and have extensive knowledge of the menu, as well as great recommends if prompted.

Bourbon Steak makes its formal introduction by bringing to the table 2 things to make your mouth water. The first are duck fries with 3 assorted dipping sauces. The other are warm rolls with butter. If you're not careful, you'll be full before the main course. The duck fries are delicious - better than Blue Duck Tavern. I'll have to pass on the warm rolls however. They look like cinnamon rolls, but when you bite into them, you discover they are nothing more than plain rolls with butter.

For the main course, I ordered an 8oz filet mignon which could go down as possibly the best steak I've ever had. Everything is a la cart, so we added some sides to share around the table: mashed potatoes, cream spinach and mac & cheese. Everything was great - especially the mac & cheese. The meals are hearty portions, so I had alot leftover to take home and enjoy the next day.

To complete the meal, I ordered the chocolate molten dessert, which was petite and very rewarding. I loved the size (if you're going to have dessert after a steak, it should be small) and every detail was representative of the description in the menu. It was warm & delicious.

My recommendation: Bourbon Steak provides a complete dining experience. Because of the price, it isn't a restaurant I can afford to frequent but if it's a special occassion and you love a good steak, then run to the phone and make a reservation - you won't be disappointed.

Peace, love & happiness.
